Grantham’s Launches New 12-Bay Workshop, Boosting Regional Service Capacity and Local Employment

Grantham’s has officially unveiled its brand-new 12-bay caravan and motorhome workshop, marking a major milestone for both the company and the wider leisure vehicle industry. This state-of-the-art facility, now open and fully operational, significantly increases service capacity for customers in the region and supports local employment by creating new roles for skilled technicians and service administrators.

To celebrate the occasion, a ceremonial ribbon cutting was held with esteemed guests from across the industry in attendance. Elliot Hibbs, Director at Coachman Caravans, was joined by Miles Storey of Groupe Pilote—manufacturer of the Joa Camp motorhome range—and representatives from the National Caravan Council (NCC), Hannah Cole and Reece Wigmore. Hibbs had the honour of cutting the red ribbon, officially opening the doors to the next chapter of Grantham’s growth.

“This expansion represents a major step forward for us as a business and as a team,” said Paul Connolly, Director at Grantham’s. “It’s about more than just increasing our capacity—it’s about investing in the future of the leisure industry and our community. We’re proud to be creating new jobs locally while continuing to raise the standard of service for our customers. This is just the first phase of what’s to come, and we’re excited about the journey ahead.”

More than just a service centre, the new workshop will also serve as the Midlands’ primary training hub for the National Caravan Council (NCC) and the Approved Workshop Scheme (AWS). It will host training courses for both experienced and aspiring technicians, helping ensure the highest standards of technical service are maintained across the industry.

Elliot Hibbs expressed his support for the expansion:
“I’m thrilled to be here today to launch Grantham’s new workshop. It’s fantastic to see such a key development within the caravan and motorhome sector, which will provide both enhanced services to customers and new job opportunities within the industry. This is a great step forward for Grantham’s, and I’m excited to see their plans for the future unfold.”

Miles Storey added:
“It’s fantastic to see Grantham’s expanding their service capacity with this impressive new workshop. This investment demonstrates their commitment to supporting the leisure industry, and we’re proud to be here celebrating this milestone with them—it’s a clear signal that the motorhome sector is thriving.”

The new facility represents Phase 1 of a broader vision for Grantham’s site. With the relocation of the service workshop now complete, the company has introduced a temporary indoor awning display to enhance the customer experience. Plans are already in motion for the development of a multi-purpose building at the front of the site. This ambitious next phase will feature a new sales area, indoor awning and accessory shop, upgraded office space, service reception, a coffee shop, and an indoor showroom—further elevating the brand’s customer offering.

With this significant investment, Grantham’s is cementing its position as a leader in caravan and motorhome services in the Midlands, setting the stage for continued innovation and growth in the years to come.
