Motorhome Servicing

Safe on the road, comfortable at camp.

Mechanical & Habitation Motorhome Services

Keeping your motorhome in top condition is essential for safe, enjoyable, and stress-free adventures. Unlike a car, your motorhome is both a vehicle and a home, which means it requires specialist care to ensure every part is working as it should.

At Grantham’s, we provide comprehensive motorhome servicing designed to give you complete peace of mind. Our expert team performs thorough mechanical servicing, covering the engine, brakes, suspension, tires, and electrical systems to keep you safe and reliable on the road.

We also complete detailed habitation checks, inspecting your gas, water, heating, and electrical appliances, as well as carrying out damp testing and seal inspections to ensure comfort and safety in your living space.

With both sides of your motorhome properly maintained, you can enjoy your journeys without worry, knowing your vehicle is in the best possible condition for every trip ahead.

Why Get a Motorhome Service?

Safety First

A motorhome is both a vehicle and a living space. Servicing ensures the brakes, tyres, suspension, gas, electrics and appliances are all safe for you and your passengers.

Reliability on the Road

Prevent breakdowns before they happen. Regular checks mean you’re less likely to face unexpected issues on your travels.

Protects Your Investment

A well-maintained motorhome retains its value better, with a full service history being a big plus when it comes to resale value.

Save Money Long-Term

Spotting small problems early, like damp or worn components, prevents them from turning into costly repairs later on.

Enquire About A Motorhome Service

    FAQs On Motorhome Services

How often should I service my motorhome?

We recommend having both a mechanical service annually or in line with your manufacturer’s service schedule, and a habitation service every 12 months to ensure all safety systems and appliances are working correctly.

What is the difference between a habitation service and a mechanical service?

A mechanical service focuses on the driving side of your motorhome (engine, brakes, tyres, etc.), while a habitation service checks the living space (gas, electrics, water systems, damp testing, etc.). Both are essential for safe and comfortable motorhome use.

Will servicing my motorhome at Grantham's affect my warranty?

No – as we are part of the AWS Approved Workshop Scheme, all our servicing is fully recognised by motorhome manufacturers and will not affect your warranty.

How long does a motorhome service take?

A full mechanical or habitation service usually takes half a day. If you book both together, you may need to leave your motorhome with us for the day – but it saves time and money compared to separate bookings.

Can I wait while my motorhome is being serviced?

Yes – we have comfortable customer facilities if you’d like to wait. For combined servicing, many customers prefer to drop off in the morning and collect later in the day.

Do you check for damp during a habitation service?

Yes – a damp and water ingress check is a key part of the habitation service, helping to spot potential issues early before they become costly repairs.

Can you carry out MOTs as well?

Yes – we can arrange MOT testing alongside your service for added convenience.

Is it cheaper to book a combined service?

Yes – booking your mechanical and habitation service together is more cost-effective, as we pass the convenience savings on to you.
